The deadline for Absentee Ballots for the Democratic Caucus has passed.

Democratic Caucus, February 26, 1:00pm at the Island Hall Though there is only one Democratic candidate seeking the nomination for president, it's still important to caucus and there will be plenty to do. The ballot will have the following choices: Barack Obama; Uncommitted; Other (write ins).

If you'd like to attend the Maine Convention as a delegate but can't be present at the caucus, let Mary know and she'll be sure to report your interest at the caucus.

If you are an Unaffiliated voter interested in participating in the Democratic Caucus, you may register as a Democrat before and up to the day of the Caucus. May Hall, Registrar of Voters, will be present at noon to register people for one hour before the caucus begins.

17 year olds who will be 18 by election day may register as a Democrat to participate in the caucus. A form of official written identification, including name and address, will be required: driver's license or passport or school transcript or progress report. Proof of birthday is also required.

There will be petitions to sign for Chellie Pingree, Steve Moriarty running for Meredith's seat and Cynthia Dill who hopes to win the opportunity to run as the Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate. Only registered Democrats may sign the petitions. The purpose of the petitions is to get their names onto the primary ballot.

Three Delegates will be selected to attend the Convention in Augusta, Friday June 1 through Sunday June 3. Saturday, 6/2, the day on which the voting occurs, is the only day a delegate MUST be able to attend.
